Beaujolais Nouveau Day Celebration – November 16November 1, 2017
Join us on November 16th at a.kitchen to celebrate this year’s wine of the year of the season from the Beaujolais region.
The Beaujolais wine region in the south of Burgundy releases a vin de l’année (wine of the year) to celebrate the end of the harvest and the first wine of the season. This year’s wine is the Terres Dorées Beaujolais Nouveau ‘L’Ancien’ 2017 (Gamay) from winemaker Jean-Paul Brun. Made with local organic grapes that are hand harvested and fermented with only native yeasts.
Join us from 5 to 10pm with live French music and glasses of wine available for $10 or bottles for $30. A slice of paté and grilled bread for $6.
Chef Eli Collins has created a menu celebrating some well known French classic dishes for a family style meal for two.
– Onion tart with anchovy, olive and fromage blanc.
– Frisée salad with crispy soft egg, lardons and mustard dressing.
– Braised beef cheeks with mushrooms, black truffle, and celery root aligot.
– Finish with a Tarte Tatin dessert.
